BIOGRAPHY
The Counterfeit Club were formed in Spring 2008 after meeting in the same Music Technology class at North Devon College, and have a solid, growing fanbase in North Devon.
The four piece, Matt Powell (bass), Craig Morey (drums), James Bowman (lead guitar) and Simon Lockyer (rhythm guitar, vocals), started collectively writing and learning covers straight away, drawing on previous experiences from being in other bands. Their first gig was at the Inn on the Square in August 2008.
In October 2008, the band had the opportunity of supporting The Brent Flood on the Exeter leg of the Jack Wills Unsigned Tour and have had some of their songs played on BBC Radio Bristol.
The band are currently recording their new album “These are Interesting Times” with producer Adam Layland. Their debut single will be released on June 12th 2009 with a launch party held at The Riverfront Café in Barnstaple to celebrate.
